Golden Eagle Country Club

Overview: Golden Eagle Country Club in Tallahassee is a private Tom Fazio course with 18 holes, par 72, and 6,965 yards from the back tees. Wide fairways, Scottish-style bunkering, natural topography, and the wooded North Florida landscape give the course its demanding but playable character.

History: Golden Eagle opened in December 1986 and was rated by the USGA as the most challenging course in Florida only six months later, according to the club’s course history. The property has remained a private Tallahassee golf destination for more than three decades.

Did You Know? The club’s own account notes that the early USGA assessment came just six months after opening, an unusually fast recognition for a newly built course.
