Overview: Gold Mountain's Cascade Course is an 18-hole municipal layout owned by the City of Bremerton. Ken Tyson's course plays to par 71 and 6,707 yards from the longest tee. Tree-lined fairways provide generous driving areas, the greens and surrounds are designed to be approachable, and limited elevation change makes Cascade notably walkable. It is the more traditional half of Gold Mountain's 36-hole facility, complementing the hillier Olympic Course while offering a separate and clearly defined Northwest woodland experience.
History: Bremerton's municipal golf project began with a 1966 civic effort to give local players a course closer to home. Watershed land was selected for the development, and the Cascade Course opened in 1971 under Ken Tyson's design. Gold Mountain later added the Olympic Course in 1996, creating the two-course complex that operates today. The city has retained ownership, and Cascade's long history remains an important part of Bremerton's public golf story.
Did You Know? The Cascade Course record listed by Gold Mountain is 63 for men and 64 for women, with Catherina Li's 64 recorded in 2011. The figures underline how a walkable, friendly-looking municipal course can still reward exceptional shotmaking.
