Overview: Goat Hill Park puts eighteen short-course holes into an Oceanside routing in Oceanside, playing to par 65 at about 4,600 yards. The operator describes a hybrid between executive and regulation golf, with a compact routing shaped by steep terrain, ocean-area views and short-course strategy. It is a place where club selection, angles and recovery matter more than simply carrying hazards with long drives.
History: The property began in 1952 as the regulation-length, nine-hole Oceanside-Carlsbad Country Club. Ludwig Keehn redesigned it in the early 1990s into an 18-hole short course, later known as Center City Golf Course before the Goat Hill name became the public identity. The current course therefore combines a mid-century origin with a later compact routing.
Did You Know? Goat Hill’s 18 holes fit into roughly 4,600 yards and par 65. That makes the course a useful test of how a short layout can create a complete round through elevation, green placement and changing angles rather than raw distance.
