Overview: The PGA Centenary Course is Gleneagles’ modern championship layout in Perthshire, set among rolling ground with views toward the Ochil Hills. The resort lists the white markers at 6,815 yards, and the course combines broad fairways, water hazards and long approaches with a demanding sequence through the closing holes.
History: Jack Nicklaus designed and opened the course in 1993 as the Monarch’s Course, which was later renamed the PGA Centenary Course. It hosted the 2014 Ryder Cup and the 2019 Solheim Cup, making it one of the most prominent modern tournament courses in Scotland.
Did You Know? The resort’s history page records that the original name referred to the monarchy, while the present PGA Centenary name connects the course to the centenary celebrations of the Professional Golfers’ Association.
