Overview: Glen Echo Country Club is a private course in St. Louis with a strong Scottish design lineage. James and Robert Foulis shaped the original routing, and the course still presents strategic contours and green complexes that reflect its early twentieth-century architecture.
History: Glen Echo opened in 1901 as St. Louis's first 18-hole course. The club later hosted the golf competition at the 1904 Olympic Games, giving the course a place in both local and national golf history.
Did You Know? James Foulis won the 1896 U.S. Open before laying out Glen Echo. His brother Robert brought additional technical knowledge from the St. Andrews tradition and helped shape the greens and tees.
