Overview: Perched on the scenic Cologny hills overlooking Lake Geneva, Golf Club de Genève is Switzerland's premier championship parkland course. Originally designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., the course winds through a mature, oak-lined estate, offering stunning panoramic views of the city of Geneva, the lake, and the majestic Mont Blanc. The layout features signature Trent Jones bunkering, generous but tree-lined fairways, and challenging water hazards, requiring strategic play and precise iron work.
History: The club was originally founded in 1922 and moved to its spectacular current location in Cologny in 1973, commissioning Robert Trent Jones Sr. to design their new championship venue. Between 2016 and 2018, the course underwent a comprehensive modernization by Robert Trent Jones Jr., who rebuilt the greens to modern USGA standards and redesigned several bunkers to restore the course's strategic integrity.
Did You Know? The course has been a prominent host venue for international tournaments, including the European Challenge Tour's Rolex Trophy, which has featured many future Ryder Cup stars early in their careers.
