Overview: Located in the Lerrone Valley in Liguria, Garlenda Golf Club features a classic parkland layout framed by olive groves and pine trees. The routing winds along the Lerrone River, which serves as a natural hazard on several holes. Gentle elevation changes, tight tree-lined fairways, and small, well-bunkered greens demand careful positioning off the tee and accurate approach shots.
History: Designed by British architects John Morrison and John Harris, the course opened in 1964, establishing a premier golf destination on the Italian Riviera. Morrison and Harris utilized the natural valley floor and existing olive groves, creating a routing that has remained structurally unchanged for over sixty years. The club has hosted regional amateur and professional tournaments.
Did You Know? The course is surrounded by historic stone villages and olive mills, with the ancient castle of Garlenda visible from several high points on the back nine, adding a classical Ligurian atmosphere to the round.
