Overview: Gamble Sands sits above the Columbia River near Brewster, Washington, where David McLay Kidd used broad sandy ground, firm fairways and large natural contours to create a playable links-style routing. The open setting encourages strategic width, creative recovery and attention to wind.
History: Gamble Sands was the design that launched the resort's golf offering in 2014. McLay Kidd shaped the course around the site's natural landforms and established a public layout built for walking, multiple lines of play and repeat rounds.
Did You Know? The resort's later golf offerings include the short course Scarecrow, introduced for resort and public play in 2025. Gamble Sands remains the original McLay Kidd course that established the property.
