Overview: Gallagher’s Canyon Golf & Country Club places its 18-hole Championship Canyon Course minutes from Kelowna while keeping the city at arm’s length. The par-72 layout works through tall ponderosa pines, forested mountains, rocky bluffs and the edge of Gallagher’s Canyon. Les Furber and Bill Robinson’s design is described by GolfBC as rugged yet refined, with well-protected greens and fairways that use the canyon setting to create changing sightlines.
History: The Championship Canyon Course opened to the public on May 31, 1980. Gallagher’s Canyon later developed into a broader golf destination with the 18-hole Canyon Course, a separate nine-hole Pinnacle course, practice facilities and hospitality. Keeping those routings distinct matters: the profile here is the championship 18, not the short course that shares the property and brand.
Did You Know? The course’s name is literal: several holes run along the edge of Gallagher’s Canyon, where the rocky landform and ponderosa pines create the strongest visual moments of the round. The club has also hosted the GolfBC Championship, bringing professional-level competition to a course that remains open to visiting golfers in the Okanagan travel corridor.
