Overview: Gainsborough Greens is an 18-hole public course on Queensland’s Gold Coast, set within a large natural property at Pimpama. The course occupies more than 230 hectares and is presented by the club as a landscape of wetlands, native vegetation and wildlife habitat rather than a tightly contained suburban layout. Fairways and water features share the ground with the surrounding fauna sanctuary, creating a round where the best line is often the one that respects the natural corridors. Its position between Brisbane and the Gold Coast makes it a strong stop for golfers travelling through South East Queensland.
History: The course has been open since 1990 and became part of the region’s broader public golf network as the northern Gold Coast grew. It has also hosted Queensland PGA events in the early 1990s, giving the property a competitive history beyond everyday visitor play. The club’s current presentation continues to emphasize the balance between championship golf and the environmental character of the site.
Did You Know? Gainsborough Greens describes the property as a fauna sanctuary, and that is central to the course’s personality. The large acreage is not simply a measurement of the golf estate: it explains why native habitat, wetlands and wildlife remain visible during a normal round.
