Overview: Located in Birkerød, north of Copenhagen, the Farum loop at Furesø Golfklub is a classic parkland course originally designed by Jan Sederholm and later modernized by Tom Mackenzie. The layout winds through a gently rolling landscape of mature beech and oak forests, featuring narrow fairways, strategic water hazards, and beautifully contoured green complexes. The course demands pinpoint accuracy off the tee and disciplined iron play to navigate the tight forest corridors.
History: Founded in 1974, the club was established to create a premier competitive venue in Zealand. Sederholm routed the original holes to fit organically into the historic forest. In recent years, Tom Mackenzie of Mackenzie & Ebert completed a comprehensive modernization that updated the bunkering and greens to modern tournament standards while preserving the classic parkland character.
Did You Know? The course is located near the shores of Furesø, Denmark's deepest lake. The spectacular natural setting provides a tranquil environment where players frequently encounter native deer and rare forest birds during their round.
