Overview: Located in the famous wine-producing region of Lombardy, Italy, the Brut and Saten nines at Franciacorta Golf Club form a highly scenic 18-hole championship layout. Designed by Pete Dye and Marco Croze, the course winds through dense oak forests and open, rolling vineyards, featuring tight fairways, deep, dramatic sand bunkers, and heavily contoured green complexes. The course demands strategic driving and precise iron play to navigate the numerous natural lakes.
History: Opened in 1986, the course was built to establish a premier luxury competitive resort destination in northern Italy. Dye utilized the severe natural topography and the massive, pristine lakes to craft a visually intimidating layout that frequently hosts major Italian amateur championships.
Did You Know? The course is deeply integrated into the local viticulture. The three distinct 9-hole loops (Brut, Saten, and Rosè) are named after the famous sparkling wines produced in the Franciacorta region, and several holes are routed directly alongside active vineyards.
