Overview: Located on the shores of Lake Mälaren near Västerås, Sweden, Frösåker Golf & Country Club is an 18-hole parkland course designed by Sune Linde. Winding through flat agricultural land and lake margins, the layout is highly exposed to lakeside winds. The design features wide, rolling fairways framed by mature trees, strategically placed water hazards, and large green complexes, requiring players to control their ball flight and use creative ground-game play.
History: Opened in 1990, the course was built on historic agricultural land that has been farmed since the Viking era. Linde carefully routed the 18 holes to preserve the natural lake contours. The course has hosted several professional events, including the Swedish Open on the Challenge Tour.
Did You Know? The club maintains a close commitment to nature preservation, with the course serving as a critical ecological sanctuary for local bird species. Several holes play directly along the shoreline, offering views of Lake Mälaren.
