Overview: Foxtail South gives Rohnert Park a public routing of eighteen holes in Rohnert Park, with a par-71 card and 6,492 yards from the gold tees. The course uses gently rolling parkland, mature trees and strategic bunkering to create a more approachable companion to Foxtail North. Rye-grass fairways and Poa annua and rye greens are part of the published course specification.
History: The South Course opened in 1963 and is credited to Bob E. Baldock, Donald Knott and Gary Linn. It forms the original foundation of the two-course Foxtail complex, which later added the North Course and continued to refine both routings. The operator’s scorecard confirms the current hole-by-hole par and yardage.
Did You Know? The South Course has a par-71 split of 35 on the front nine and 36 on the back. That small imbalance is easy to miss in the overall score, but it gives the closing nine one more stroke of par and a slightly different rhythm.
