Overview: Fox Run Golf Club in Ludlow is an 18-hole heathland-style course shaped by rolling ground, moderate elevation changes and broad native-fescue areas. The 6,400-yard, par-70 layout moves through the former farm landscape with enough room for different lines of play, while its greens and surrounding hazards reward accurate approaches. The course sits near Okemo Mountain, but its identity comes from the land immediately around the holes: open hills, tree lines, fescue and the changing light of the Okemo Valley.
History: Fox Run began in 1969 as a nine-hole executive course on the 150-acre Moore family dairy farm. Local resident Stan Johnson laid out the original course. After Okemo Mountain purchased the property, the old layout was replaced and Steve Durkee was hired to design the new course. The new layout took shape in stages before the complete 18-hole course officially opened in 2000. The property later returned to the Fox Run name under its current ownership.
Did You Know? The facility includes a 10-acre practice area and a separate four-hole short course in addition to the main 18 holes. That combination makes Fox Run more than a single round of golf, while the course’s fescue margins and rolling terrain preserve the heathland character described by its current operator.
