Overview: Fort Myers Country Club is a public 18-hole Donald Ross walking course with a listed men’s par of 70 and about 6,414 yards. The city layout combines mature parkland, water, and the historic character of central Fort Myers.
History: Donald Ross advised on the design in 1916 and the course opened on December 29, 1917. A major 2014 project led by Steve Smyers modernized drainage, turf, bunkering, and greens while preserving the Ross character.
Did You Know? Thomas Edison and Henry Ford were known to play the course in the 1920s, when their nearby winter estates helped make Fort Myers a prominent seasonal destination.
