Overview: Forest Creek's South Course is Tom Fazio's first 18-hole layout at the Pinehurst club. It moves through rolling Sandhills pine forest with broad landing areas, sandy ground and green complexes that reward thoughtful approach angles. The private setting and the contrast with the later North Course define the routing.
History: Construction on the South Course began in 1994 and the course opened in 1996. Forest Creek's own history identifies Fazio as the designer and documents the course's signature 37th hole, the extra par-three hole used for special play and a distinctive part of the club's identity.
Did You Know? Forest Creek's South Course is associated with a 37th hole as well as its regular 18-hole routing. The extra hole is not part of the standard course count, which is why the directory profile remains an 18-hole course.
