Overview: Florence Country Club is a private 18-hole course in Florence, South Carolina, using rolling, tree-lined ground and classic green contours. The par-71 layout is moderate in length, so approach angles and recovery play are more important than simply chasing distance.
History: The club was founded in 1924. Its published history does not identify the original architect, although it describes the course as crafted in a classic Donald Ross style; Ross should therefore not be presented as a confirmed designer.
Did You Know? Florence Country Club has hosted the 1955 USGA Girls’ Junior Championship and the 1963 USGA Junior Amateur Championship.
