Overview: Florø Golfklubb’s Runde 3 is a charming 6-hole course tucked into the coastal town of Florø in Norway’s Vestland region. Surrounded by steep fjords and lush landscapes, the compact layout demands sharp strategy despite its modest 1,109-yard length. The course sits within a unique recreational area developed alongside Brandsøy Planteskule, blending golf with rich flora and wildlife. A cozy clubhouse lets players relax with refreshments while soaking in the serene fjord views after a round.
History: Florø Golfklubb was founded on April 26, 2007, after Sunnfjord Golfklubb leased land from Brandsøy Planteskule in 2005 for teaching and recruitment on a provisional driving range. By 2010, players could navigate 6 holes with some goodwill, and in 2014 the course was considered finished with 6 holes, allowing 9-hole play by using different tees. The course has been continuously improved since then, built entirely on dugnad (volunteer effort) with significant support from sponsors and partners. In 2020, Norges Golfforbund approved and rated it as a full-fledged 6-hole course.
Did You Know? The course is driven entirely by volunteer effort without any employees, a rare model in Norwegian golf. A Trackman golf simulator was installed in 2023 on dugnad with support from local banks and gaming funds. The area’s lush flora and rich wildlife make Brandsøy Planteskule a valued recreational zone for both golfers and hikers. The driving range was established in 2005, two years before the club was officially founded.
