Overview: Firestone North is the 18-hole Akron, Ohio course designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. Water affects more than half of the holes, and the course's mature parkland setting provides a stern but clearly framed test.
History: The North Course opened in 1969 as the second major course at Firestone Country Club. It went on to host the American Golf Classic and World Series of Golf, adding a long tournament history to the club's original South Course.
Did You Know? Firestone's first course was built in 1929 for employees of the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company; the North Course expanded the property forty years later.
