Overview: Located in the rolling hills of Tuscany just south of Florence, Italy, Firenze Circolo Golf Ugolino is a historic 18-hole parkland course designed by British architects Cecil Blandford and Peter Gannon. Winding through ancient olive groves, steep ravines, and mature cypress forests, the layout features significant elevation changes, narrow, sloping fairways, and small putting surfaces. The course demands pinpoint accuracy off the tee to navigate the severe side-hill lies.
History: Founded in 1889 by the British expatriate community, the club moved to its current Ugolino location in 1933, making it the oldest golf club in Italy. The course has meticulously maintained its historic routing and classic strategic values, serving as a historic center for Italian golf and hosting numerous national championships.
Did You Know? The club's spectacular clubhouse is a beautiful, rationalist-style building constructed in the 1930s. It features a stunning, elevated terrace that offers panoramic views over the historic Tuscan countryside and the distant skyline of Florence.
