Overview: Farnham Estate Golf Course is a spectacular championship parkland layout set on a 1,300-acre historic estate in County Cavan. Designed by Jeff Howes and opened in 2009, the course is famous for its "dual-personality" design: the front nine is a lush and relatively flat open layout, while the back nine climbs into dense, mature woodland. Characterized by its pristine conditioning and significant elevation changes on the back stretch, Farnham Estate offers a secluded and atmospheric round of world-class resort golf.
Did You Know? The estate dates back to 1664 and has been the seat of the Maxwell family for centuries. The course was carefully carved out of the original ancient woodland of the estate, and the transition from the open parkland of the front nine to the dark, narrow forest corridors of the back ten (it features a "back ten" including a technical par-3) is one of the most dramatic architectural shifts in Irish golf.
