Overview: Euphoria Golf Estate sits in the Waterberg near Mookgopong, roughly two hours from Johannesburg and about ninety minutes from Pretoria. The 18-hole course uses the bushveld setting as its main architectural material, with broad views, natural vegetation and the Waterberg skyline shaping the sense of space. From the yellow tees the card reaches about 7,040 yards at par 72, giving the course a substantial resort scale.
History: Euphoria was created as a golf and lifestyle estate rather than a traditional town club. Annika Sorenstam and Stan Eby are credited with the course, which was built in 2008 and became Sorenstam’s first African design. The wider estate combines golf with accommodation, a spa, hiking, birding and a cableway to the mountain-top restaurant.
Did You Know? The estate’s cableway connects the lower resort to Ntshonalanga, the mountain-top restaurant. It gives Euphoria an unusual vertical dimension: the same Waterberg landscape that frames the fairways also becomes part of the journey above the course.
