Esplanade Golf & Country Club

Overview: Esplanade Golf & Country Club in Lakewood Ranch is an 18-hole Chris Wilczynski course that reaches about 6,716 yards and plays to par 72. The design uses broad fairways, large greens, strategic bunkering, and gentle elevation changes within a residential setting.

History: The course was completed for the Esplanade community in 2013 after Wilczynski shaped the layout around a natural ridge and a varied tee program. It became an early example of a new residential course emerging after the housing downturn.

Did You Know? Three of the layout’s par fours were designed to stay under 330 yards, creating short risk-and-reward opportunities inside an otherwise full-length 18-hole course.
