Overview: Located within the windswept coastal dunes and pine forests of the Wadden Sea National Park, the Marbæk Course at Esbjerg Golfklub is widely regarded as one of Denmark's ultimate golf challenges. Designed by Frederik Dreyer, the woodland layout features narrow, tree-lined fairways, heather-clad rough, and small, exceptionally fast greens guarded by deep, strategic bunkers. The relentless North Sea winds and the tight forest corridors demand complete strategic discipline and precise shot-making.
History: Opened in 1975, the Marbæk Course was built on a sandy, coastal tract of land, ensuring excellent natural drainage and firm, fast playing conditions year-round. Over the decades, the course has hosted numerous major European amateur and professional championships, establishing a reputation as a pure, unspoiled, and formidable test of golf.
Did You Know? The course is completely free of water hazards, relying entirely on the towering pines, thick coastal heather, deep sand bunkers, and relentless sea winds to defend its par, making it a favorite among golf purists.
