Overview: Engineers Country Club's Tradition course is a private Long Island layout on about 210 acres in Roslyn Harbor. Herbert Strong's early design, later work associated with Devereux Emmet and Frank Duane, and a par-71 routing produce a traditional course with a strong green-complex identity.
History: Engineers was established in 1917 and quickly became a significant competitive venue. The club hosted the 1919 PGA Championship and the 1920 U.S. Amateur, events that place its early course in the first generation of nationally important American clubs.
Did You Know? The course's short second hole is known as the Two or Twenty hole because its design asks a golfer to choose between a conservative two-putt mindset and the possibility of attacking a very small target.
