Overview: Ekwanok Country Club lies in a broad valley below Mount Equinox in Manchester, Vermont. Walter Travis and John Duncan Dunn designed an eighteen-hole course that moves from open mountain views into wooded slopes, with classic greens and a changing sense of scale.
History: Ekwanok was founded in 1899 after James Taylor secured the site and invited Travis and Dunn to plan the course. Construction began that autumn and was complete by the summer of 1900; hole locations and sequence remain substantially intact despite later work.
Did You Know? Francis Ouimet won the 1914 U.S. Amateur at Ekwanok in a 36-hole final. The Vermont Golf Association was also organized at the club in 1901.
