Edzell (Old)

Overview: Edzell Golf Club features the Old Course, a heathland and parkland layout situated in Angus, Scotland. Nestled at the foothills of the Grampian Mountains, the course is known for its tree-lined fairways and views of the surrounding glens. The strategic layout offers a fair test of shot-making with undulating terrain and fast greens.

History: The club was established in 1895 with an initial design by Bob Simpson. In 1933, golf architect James Braid redesigned the layout, adding strategic bunkering and eliminating crossing holes to modernise the strategic elements of the course.

Did You Know? The entrance to the club is marked by the Inglis Memorial Hall, a grand Victorian building with a red sandstone tower that dominates the village landscape. The hall was gifted to the village by Sir William Ogilvy Dalgleish.
