Overview: Edgewood Tahoe is a George Fazio course on the south shore of Lake Tahoe in Stateline, where Ponderosa pines, mountain views and lake-edge holes define the resort setting. The current profile lists 7,529 yards and par 72. Water comes into play on 11 holes, while the fairways and fast, undulating greens create a strategic contrast between the scale of the mountain landscape and the precision required around the putting surfaces. The course is scenic, but its architectural interest lies in how Fazio used the shoreline and forest rather than treating either as decoration.
History: The Edgewood golf course was unveiled in 1968 on a 235-acre property developed by the Park family. The clubhouse followed in 1973 and was later remodeled. Edgewood hosted the U.S. Public Links Championship in 1980 and the U.S. Senior Open in 1985, then became the permanent home of the American Century Championship in 1990. Those events made the course a recurring part of both championship and celebrity golf history.
Did You Know? Friday's Station, across Highway 50 from the course, is the only surviving Pony Express station in Nevada. The historic building is part of Edgewood Tahoe's wider property story and links the resort's modern golf identity with the region's nineteenth-century travel history.
