Overview: Eastridge Golf Club occupies the rolling foothills around Binangonan, east of Metro Manila, where James Martell Jr. routed an 18-hole course through the Sierra Madre landscape. The gold tees are listed at 7,169 yards and the course plays to par 72. Its character comes from a ridge-top setting, open and tighter stretches of fairway, ravines and several water hazards. The front nine opens out across the terrain, while the back nine asks for more disciplined placement as the land narrows around the target lines.
History: Eastridge is an early-1990s creation, with Golfify recording 1993 as its opening year. The course occupies an 80-hectare property and is described by the Philippine golf federation as an all-weather membership course. Martell’s connection with Robert Trent Jones Jr. is part of the course’s documented design story, but Eastridge has its own identity, shaped around the limestone foothills and the natural changes in elevation rather than a flat resort site.
Did You Know? The eighth is singled out in course coverage as a 223-yard par 3 played across a ravine. Other demanding moments include the falling-away fourth, the ravine-side sixth and the lake crossing on the thirteenth. Those holes show how Eastridge builds difficulty from landform and sightlines, so the course’s challenge is not simply a matter of length.
