Overview: East Point Golf Club is the established golf venue at Mudasarlova in Visakhapatnam, around 15 kilometres from the city centre. The club presents a full-fledged 18-hole championship course that is open to people from all walks of life. Its official course description places the holes among mango and palmyra trees, green hills, a lake, marshland, rolling ground and plenty of sand bunkers. The result is a natural-looking course with a varied choice of shots, where a player can take a conservative line or challenge hazards for a better angle. Current scorecard sources disagree on the exact par and tee distances, so the profile keeps those figures open rather than choosing a number that may describe an older or different setup.
History: East Point Golf Club dates its foundation to 1884. The original Golf Links was a picturesque nine-hole course along the coast, but later land pressure and the club's development led to a move inland at Mudasarlova. In 1974, funds were raised to develop an 18-hole course on roughly 100 acres, with the architecture entrusted to Sripada Rao. The present course then went through a complete renovation beginning in 2017 and was inaugurated on 20 February 2021. The renovated layout gained Category-A championship recognition and has since hosted professional and amateur events, including current 2026 Indian Golf Union competition.
Did You Know? East Point's modern 18-hole identity is the result of several distinct chapters: a coastal nine-hole beginning, a 1970s Mudasarlova expansion and a 2021 relaunch after renovation. The club also maintains a two-tier driving range, junior golf, a bunker academy and classified caddies, giving the venue a substantial practice and learning operation alongside the course.
