Overview: Atlanta's East Lake Golf Club is a private parkland course with mature trees and rolling ground close to the city. Its modern tournament identity sits on top of a much older club and architectural history.
History: Golf was introduced at East Lake in 1904, and the first 18-hole course had its grand opening on July 4, 1908. Tom Bendelow created the original course, Donald Ross reworked it in 1913, and Andrew Green's 2024 restoration returned the course to a more historic presentation.
Did You Know? East Lake has hosted the TOUR Championship since 2005. The annual event gives the historic Atlanta course a continuing role in the professional season rather than leaving its importance only in the past.
