Overview: Eagle Springs Golf Course is a public 18-hole layout in DeFuniak Springs, shaped by gently rolling hills, pine forests, five spring-fed lakes, and elevated Bermuda greens. The current course plays to par 72 and reaches roughly 6,600 yards.
History: Golf organizers began developing the property in the 1920s, and W.B. Harbeson provided land and support for a nine-hole course in 1924. The course remained nine holes for decades, expanded to 18, and was purchased and renamed by Walton County in 2019.
Did You Know? The original 1920s front-nine routing is still in use. The Florida Historic Golf Trail notes that its 1928 length was only slightly shorter than the current white-tee front nine.
