Overview: Friant’s Eagle Springs is a Johnny Miller signature design with eighteen holes in Friant, north of Fresno. The operator’s hole-by-hole material adds to a par-72 routing measuring about 6,850 yards from the longest listed tees, with mature oaks, elevation changes, creeks and lakes repeatedly shaping play. The course is non-walking, and its elevated terrain makes club selection part of the layout’s identity.
History: The course opened in 1990, and the official operator describes Johnny Miller as the designer of every facet from concept through completion. The published hole notes document the original design character through specific features such as the creek beside the fifth fairway, the elevated fourth tee and the tiered eighteenth green.
Did You Know? Several holes play shorter than their carded distance because of elevation. The operator specifically calls out the eleventh as an elevated par four that plays much shorter than the yardage suggests, a detail that captures the course’s vertical character.
