Overview: At Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club, the Isao Aoki Course presents 18 holes at par 72 at Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club in General Trias, Cavite. Published course records list 6,990 yards, and Eagle Ridge’s official description presents the routing as the more accommodating of its wide-open fairways and relatively light rough. That does not make it simple. Hazards cross strategic landing areas, several greens are sharply contoured and the surrounding topography produces changing angles and wind effects. The course rewards a measured game with room to choose the right line.
History: The Aoki course was developed as part of Eagle Ridge’s four-course project in the late 1990s. Eagle Ridge’s official history traces the operating company to 1996 and identifies Isao Aoki as one of the four signature designers; independent course records place the facility’s opening in 1997. The Aoki routing therefore belongs to the project’s original championship generation, alongside the Andy Dye and Nick Faldo courses, before Greg Norman’s later addition.
Did You Know? The official description says the Aoki course was deliberately made suitable for weekend golfers, with wide fairways and less rough than the other Eagle Ridge layouts. Its clubhouse also reflects the designer’s Japanese connection, featuring a sushi bar, fishponds and a Japanese-style bath and sauna. Those details give the course a cultural identity beyond its scorecard and designer name.
