Overview: One of the four 18-hole layouts at Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club is the Andy Dye Course at Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club in General Trias, Cavite. It plays to par 72, with the championship card listed at 7,313 yards, and is built around a natural canyon that runs through the property. Andy Dye’s design turns that canyon into a recurring strategic question: an aggressive line can improve the angle and shorten the hole, while the safer route often leaves a more demanding approach. Mounding, bunkers, hazards and contoured greens complete the test.
History: Eagle Ridge’s operating company was organised in 1996 as part of the development of a large multi-course golf facility. The Andy Dye routing is dated to 1998 in independent course records, placing it among the first layouts at the General Trias project. It was developed alongside the Isao Aoki and Nick Faldo courses, with Greg Norman’s fourth course completing the complex later. The current club continues to present the Dye course as a distinct championship track rather than an interchangeable loop.
Did You Know? The canyon is not merely a scenic feature on the Andy Dye course. The official hole descriptions repeatedly frame it as a risk-and-reward element, with shots closer to the edge offering better angles or shorter approaches. That is the central design idea of the routing: the golfer is asked to choose how much natural trouble to challenge before every reward becomes visible.
