Overview: Dun Laoghaire Golf Club ~ Middle/Lower is the directory’s exact 18-hole pairing of two nines at the club’s 27-hole parkland facility in Enniskerry. The modern course sits in Ballyman Glen, with large-scale fairways, mature vegetation and strongly shaped bunkers creating a different experience from the club’s former urban course. Current club pages identify Upper, Middle and Lower as separate nines, while architectural coverage attributes the present 27-hole design to Martin Hawtree. Pair-specific par and yardage are left open because the current pages do not publish one stable card for Middle/Lower.
History: The club’s history reaches back to its original course in the Dun Laoghaire area. By the 1970s, maintaining eighteen holes on a limited urban site was no longer practical, and the club eventually moved to Ballyman Glen in 2007. The new 27-hole operation gave the club three distinct loops and a much larger landscape. The Curtis Cup was held at the new venue in 2016, placing the modern course in an important amateur-golf context.
Did You Know? The three Dun Laoghaire nines are deliberately different in scale and character. The Middle/Lower pairing is not a shortened version of one championship course; it is a complete round assembled from two named loops. That is why the routing name is kept exactly, while unsupported pair-specific numbers are not invented.
