Overview: Druid Hills Golf Club is a private Atlanta course tucked into the historic Druid Hills neighborhood. The layout uses rolling ground, streams and mature hardwoods associated with the neighborhood's Olmsted-planned landscape. Herbert Strong's early golf design and Bob Cupp's later work give the course a parkland character built around green spaces rather than dramatic manufactured hazards.
History: Sixty Atlanta citizens petitioned to incorporate Druid Hills Golf Club in September 1912, and the charter was granted in May 1913. Bob Cupp led an extensive renovation in 2003 with the stated aim of returning the course to its original Golden Era design.
Did You Know? The golf property was reserved within the broader Druid Hills neighborhood plan, whose landscape was shaped by Frederick Law Olmsted. Three streams and hardwoods were part of the original setting identified for the future course.
