Overview: DragonRidge Country Club is an 18-hole private course elevated in Henderson's McCullough Mountains. Jay Morrish and David Druzisky routed the course through natural hillsides and canyons, with the current profile listing par 72 and 6,975 yards. Wide fairways and large greens give the layout room to play, but the mountain setting creates uneven ground, changing elevation and broad Las Vegas Valley views. The course's desert character comes from the relationship between the built playing corridors and the original rocky terrain around them.
History: DragonRidge's design work was underway by 1999, with the course opening in 2000 as part of the MacDonald Highlands community. The club's official account credits Morrish and Druzisky with shaping the course around the natural topography, and later renovations have been guided by David Druzisky, one of the original architects. DragonRidge has also hosted notable events, including Tiger Jam III and IV in 2001 and 2002 and the Wendy's Three-Tour Challenge in 2002.
Did You Know? The club's practice complex covers more than 60,000 square feet and includes an all-grass driving range, short-game area, two practice sand bunkers and two bent-grass putting greens. It is a substantial architectural support space for the mountain course, not just a small warm-up green.
