Dongguan Mission Hills Golf Club (Leadbetter)

Overview: The Leadbetter Course at Mission Hills is a full-length par-72 layout built around the teaching instincts of its namesake. At 7,155 yards, it offers generous fairways, short par fours and elevated tee shots, but the wide landing areas do not make the round automatic. Sand-flashed bunkers and uneven lies ask players to plan the next shot rather than judge a hole only by its tee-shot width.

History: Leadbetter was the first golf-course design project associated with the celebrated instructor, and Mission Hills places the first David Leadbetter Golf Academy in China at the resort. The course is one of the five layouts at the Dongguan clubhouse, and the club continues to schedule events on the routing.

Did You Know? The design is deliberately educational in character. Mission Hills says the combination of generous fairways, short par fours and elevated drives is intended to challenge without intimidating, while still requiring every club in the bag. The safest-looking shot is not always the best one if it leaves an awkward approach.
