Overview: Diamond Country Club ~ Diamond Course is an 18-hole tournament-scale parkland at Atzenbrugg west of Vienna. Designed by Jeremy Pern, Pern’s shaped earth, lakes, and former industrial ground create a tournament course where wide fairways can still demand exact lines. The Diamond Course reaches about 7,457 yards at par 72, giving its broad corridors the scale associated with its Austrian Open era. Its open tournament corridors are balanced by water and shaped ground, so the most comfortable-looking tee shots can still leave awkward approaches when played without a plan.
History: The Diamond Course grew from a late-1990s 36-hole project. Club history records the site as GC2000 in 2000, while Jeremy Pern’s project record dates the Diamond design to 2002. A 2010 redesign accompanied its Austrian Open era. The Diamond Course’s present character is the product of multiple phases rather than a single opening. Tournament demands and later redesigns refined the original industrial-site concept into a durable championship venue.
Did You Know? The property retains traces of its industrial past, including concrete remains and bomb craters incorporated into the golf landscape. Concrete remnants and bomb craters are reminders that the Diamond golf landscape had an industrial and wartime history before the fairways were formed.
