Overview: Delsjö Golfklubb is a park and woodland course east of Gothenburg, set within the broader Delsjö nature landscape. The layout uses natural ground, woodland edges and water to create a varied round that feels close to the city but remains visually calm. Its par-71 routing is not defined by excessive length. Instead, the course asks for accurate positioning, clear decisions around the green and an appreciation of how the terrain changes from hole to hole. The result is a compact, characterful course whose best moments come from the relationship between golf and protected landscape.
History: Delsjö Golfklubb was formed in 1962, the course became playable in 1963 and the complete 18-hole layout was inaugurated in 1965. Douglas Brasier and Frank Pennink are associated with the original design. In 2004 Peter Chamberlain rebuilt all greens and green complexes, a major intervention that improved the playing surfaces while keeping the course’s park and woodland identity.
Did You Know? Delsjö’s official description calls it a park and woodland course in a nature-reserve setting. That combination explains why the round can feel secluded even though the clubhouse is within easy reach of Gothenburg.
