Overview: Delray Beach Golf Club is a public municipal 18-hole course built around Donald Ross’s early Delray layout. The current scorecard reaches about 6,907 yards at par 72, while live oaks, pines, and the forgiving-to-demanding sequence of holes preserve its historic character.
History: The city purchased the land in 1923 and opened nine holes in 1926. The course closed during World War II, reopened in 1945, and gained a second nine in 1950, creating the 18-hole public course that exists today.
Did You Know? Delray Beach’s early course attracted touring professionals traveling toward Miami. The city’s history page also recalls LPGA Hall of Fame player Betty Jameson as a longtime local connection.
