Overview: Dellwood Country Club is an 18-hole private course in Dellwood, northeast of St Paul. Don Herfort's original design uses roughly 200 acres of woodland, moving ground, water, and mature vegetation to create a course that balances playability with a demanding championship scale. The layout reaches about 7,050 yards from its longest tees, while six teeing areas allow the same holes to present very different tasks. A separate short course adds a more compact option within the wider golf property.
History: Dellwood was established in 1969 as Dellwood National and later operated as Dellwood Hills before taking its current name. Herfort created the original course, which has hosted the Minnesota State Open, Minnesota State Amateur, USGA qualifying, and numerous state and professional events. Since new ownership in 2012, the club has invested heavily in drainage, bunkers, practice facilities, and long-term course improvements.
Did You Know? Dellwood is a certified Audubon Sanctuary course. Its environmental program covers habitat management, water conservation, chemical reduction, and wildlife planning, so the same woodland and wetland setting that shapes the holes also forms part of the club's conservation work.
