Overview: Debeach Golf Club occupies a narrow coastal setting on Geoje, with the sea surrounding the property on three sides. The official course page lists an 18-hole, par-72 layout at 7,442 yards and presents it as Korea's first three-bay links course. That description makes sense when the course is read on the ground. The holes use exposed coastal land, changing wind angles and long views across the water, while beaches, ponds and white sand bunkers give the route a clear seaside vocabulary. It is not a replica of St Andrews or Pebble Beach, despite the club's own comparisons. Its stronger identity is a Korean coastal course using the same broad ingredients of wind, width, water and ground movement.
History: Debeach opened in 2011 as a new golf destination on Geoje Island. Recent Korean course coverage credits Ha Jong-doo and JD Golf Associates with the design, and the club's current materials continue to frame the project around the island's natural beauty rather than a heavily engineered resort landscape. The property was built with an emphasis on sea views from the course and a clubhouse intended to support the coastal experience. That combination helped establish Debeach as a destination course rather than simply a local 18-hole facility.
Did You Know? The official scorecard makes the final hole a 629-yard par 5 from the gold markers. It is an unusually emphatic finish, with the number itself showing how the course uses length as part of its seaside drama. The closing hole is not just a view back toward the clubhouse, but a genuine final decision for the golfer.
