Overview: De Drentsche Golf en Country Club is a 27-hole complex located north of Assen in the Netherlands. Designed by Gerard Jol, it sits within a 240-hectare nature reserve with 140 hectares dedicated to golf. The course features three distinct nine-hole loops: Yellow (open), Red (woods and water), and White (forest). It offers a heathland and parkland character with wide horizons and generous fairways. A separate par-3 course is also available for shorter play.
History: The club opened in 2004 as part of the Zeijerveen development near Assen. Gerard Jol designed the layout to integrate with the surrounding natural landscape while providing championship-length holes. The facility was built on a large nature reserve, preserving open spaces and heathland features. It has grown into one of the larger golf complexes in the northern Netherlands since its opening.
