Overview: The North Course at Daytona Beach Golf Club gives the city a municipal 18-hole layout framed by dense Florida oak and pine. Slim Deathridge designed the original routing in 1946, and the longest listed tees reach about 6,338 yards.
History: Deathridge was the club’s head professional and manager when he laid out the North Course. The course was rebuilt in 1997, when greens, bunkers, and tees were redone, creating the current chapter of the facility’s history.
Did You Know? The North Course is generally described as the tougher of Daytona Beach’s two municipal layouts. Its added water and more undulating greens are the reasons usually given for that reputation.
