Overview: Dancoon Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 course in Daeng Yai, about fifteen kilometres from Khon Kaen and close to the city's airport. Current tourism material gives a 6,949-yard total. The course was built on former farmland and is relatively open and flat, with generous fairways, planted tree corridors, bunkers and water hazards shaping the round. The front nine and back nine have noticeably different personalities: the opening loop is more forgiving, while the closing loop asks for more careful positioning. An attached resort and practice facilities make Dancoon a practical base for golfers visiting Isan's regional hub.
History: Dancoon opened in 2008 as one of the first courses in north-eastern Thailand positioned for international play. Course records credit DC Golf Design and continue to identify the same full 18-hole routing. The development began on farmland rather than a mature park estate, so the course's character has always been linked to the open Khon Kaen landscape and to the growth of the city as a business and travel centre. A documented 2010 Asian Seniors competition also gave the young course an early competitive milestone.
Did You Know? The 11th is the course's defining hole in several current guides: a par three played to an island green. Water also appears on ten holes, and the contrast between the more straightforward front nine and the stronger back nine is built into the stroke allocation. Dancoon therefore changes tone midway through the round instead of repeating the same challenge for eighteen holes.
