Overview: Dalit Bay Golf & Country Club is an 18-hole championship course at the Shangri-La Rasa Ria resort near Tuaran, north of Kota Kinabalu. The layout is bordered by the Tambalang and Mengkabong rivers and looks toward Mount Kinabalu, with wetland vegetation, tropical hills and the South China Sea shaping the experience. The club's current hole guide confirms the full 18-hole routing and par 72. Yardage is left unfilled because the reviewed published totals differ between older event material and current course references, although the individual hole guide remains detailed.
History: Dalit Bay was established in 1996 and was designed by Australian architect Ted Parslow. It was developed as the golf course for the Shangri-La resort, with the natural wetlands and river mouths forming the framework of the two nines. Current resort and tourism descriptions continue to present it as a destination course rather than a standalone inland club, and the course remains tied to the Rasa Ria property and the Tuaran address.
Did You Know? The eleventh is Dalit Bay's signature hole, a par three played across the mouth of the Tambalang River with Mount Kinabalu behind the green. The ninth is a long par four bordered by wetlands, water and large bunkers, while the fourth uses an island green linked to the tee by a wooden bridge. These holes illustrate the course's main character: the landscape is not just scenery, because river, wetland and lake edges repeatedly define the safe line of play.
