Overview: Cypress Lakes Golf and Country Club is a resort course located in Pokolbin, in the heart of the Hunter Valley wine region. Designed by Steve Smyers and opened in 1992, the layout features dramatic elevation changes and panoramic views of the surrounding vineyards. The course is characterized by wide fairways, strategic bunkering, and large, contoured greens.
History: Opened in 1992, Cypress Lakes was designed by American architect Steve Smyers to bring a modern, championship-caliber test to the region. The course has hosted several professional tournaments, including the NSW Open. It underwent significant turf and green refinements under the ownership of the Oaks Hotels group.
Did You Know? The course features a spectacular par-three eleventh hole that plays from an elevated tee to a green perched beside a large lake, demanding both distance control and a steady nerve.
